Each year, the Trustees, Staff, and Members of Lincoln County Historical Association gather together to celebrate the past year and look forward to the next. LCHA’s Annual Meeting is a fun and social time of sharing stories and snacks before participants turn their attention to a short business meeting to review the organization’s financial picture and consider board representation for the year ahead.

This year’s Annual Meeting & Members Gathering will take place at Tandem Glass Studio in Dresden, Maine, where studio owners and glass artists Terrill Waldman & Charlie Jenkins work to create unique glass pieces. Each artist has over 30 years of experience and has shown their work nationally. Tandem Glass is a valued Business Supporter of LCHA and we are thrilled that they are sharing their unique studio space with us for this year’s Annual Meeting & Members Gathering!

Please join us on October 30, 2025 at 5:30 PM at Tandem Glass at 6 Eagle Lodge Lane in Dresden, Maine. If possible, please bring an appetizer or treat to share! We look forward to seeing you!

RSVP to Shannon at [email protected] to help us get an idea of how many guests to plan for!

FAQ for the Annual Meeting at Tandem Glass

Will the artists be working during our meeting?
No, the artists are not expected to be working while we’re there. They are generously sharing their studio space with us for the event. You may see some of their beautiful glasswork on display.

What is the space like?
Tandem Glass is an active working artists’ studio, so you will see their equipment and supplies around. Despite this, there is ample space for us to gather, catch up, and celebrate comfortably.

Can I visit Tandem Glass earlier in the day?
If you’d like to come earlier, Tandem Glass hours in October are currently by chance. We will check with them as the date approaches and post their exact hours here so you can plan accordingly.

What will the event feel like?
Our annual meeting is usually a fun and joyful gathering, not a dull business meeting. It’s a chance to catch up, celebrate, and enjoy each other’s company in a unique setting. While we do cover important business, the mood stays light and welcoming.

What business will be covered during the meeting?
The business portion includes sharing updates on the organization with a Treasurer’s Report and an Executive Director’s Report. The Nominating Committee will present a recommended slate of Trustees for Executive positions including President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, as well as Trustees for new and returning board terms. Members will be asked to vote to approve these candidates. Your input as a member of LCHA is highly valued and this is also a great time to chat with organization leaders to share feedback or ideas!

Any suggestions for before the meeting?
Consider making an afternoon of it! You might drive by some of Dresden’s historic sites listed on the National Register such as our 1761 Pownalborough Court House, the Bowman House, the Dresden Brick School House, the Lithgow House, or the Bridge Academy Library. For an outdoor adventure, enjoy the beautiful walking trails at Court House that we are proud to share with the public. It is a wonderful way to spend some time before the meeting begins.

Are you keeping track of what people are bringing?
No, we’re not keeping a formal list. It usually sorts itself out when everyone brings something to share. In addition to appetizers and sweet treats, soft drinks and bottled water are always welcome. Please avoid single-use plastic out of respect for our hosts’ preferences.

Is parking available?
Yes, there is plenty of parking available near the studio – please watch for parking signage or volunteers to ensure everyone finds a good spot. Consider saving a parking spot by carpooling if it makes sense for you!

Is the venue accessible?
The event is on the first floor, which is mostly accessible. Please note the bathroom requires stepping up one step.

Any tips for getting there?
We know driving in the dark on rural roads can be tricky this time of year. Please check your route in advance to make sure you know where you’re going. Take your time, there’s no rush!

Why didn’t I receive an invitation?
The invitation was sent to all active members by both email and postal mail (mailed 10/15). If your membership is current and you didn’t receive an invitation, it may be because we have incorrect contact information for you, or your email spam filters may have blocked it. Please check your spam or junk folder, and if you still can’t find it, contact Shannon to update your information and ensure you don’t miss future communications.

Who received the invitation?
Invitations are sent only to current members. According to our bylaws, membership runs from June 1 to May 31 each year. Sometimes memberships aren’t renewed on time, so if you didn’t get an invitation, it might be because your membership had lapsed. Also, sometimes we have made a mistake, so we encourage you to reach out if you didn’t receive an invitation but expected to!

What if I have questions?
If you have any questions or need assistance, please email Shannon. Shannon loves your questions, so don’t hesitate! But, please remember that due to her part-time work schedule and many responsibilities, it might take her a few days to respond!
